Enhancing Reading Skills
The College
Board (creators of the
SAT) reports that about
half of those heading
off to college do not
possess the reading
skills they need to
succeed in college.
While a high school
student, Jamie Lash took
a reading skills course,
and his reading speed
and comprehension
improved so dramatically
that his verbal SAT
score shot up by 130
points, enabling him to
get into a college that
probably would not have
accepted him otherwise.
After completing college
and graduate school,
Jamie Lash taught at
Baylor and then became
the Director of Student
Development at Dallas
Baptist University.
For the last twenty
years, he has been on a
mission to provide
incoming students with
the reading skills they
need to succeed. He has
taught Speed Reading
about 140 times and
recently developed an
internet version of the
course.

Quote from Jamie Lash:
“I grew up as an atheist and had no clue why I was alive. Entering into a
personal relationship with God is the one thing that has made my life worth
living. God has set me free from numerous forms of bondage and has given
me a life of meaning and fruitfulness. I am so grateful for what God has
done in my life and for how He has enabled me to be a blessing to others.
My mission is to help enrich the lives of others by showing God's kindness and
by sharing His life-giving words."
